Green Bay Packers @ Tennessee Titans
The Packers are going to Tennessee to face off against the Titans. The Packers are on a two game skid and are in danger of falling out of the NFC playoff race. The Titans also need a win, they are a game and a half out of first place in their division. The key for the Packers is to stop the Titans running attack. The Titans are averaging 144 yards per game and if the Packers can slow them down and make Marcus Mariota try to beat them, then the Packers should be able to win. The key for the Titans is to stop Aaron Rodgers and the Packers passing game. The Packers are not good at running the football and the Titans are one of the better teams against the run, so if they can slow down the Packers passing game, then they might have a chance to win. In the end, the Packers run defense should be able to slow the Titans down enough to give Green Bay the victory.
GB 24 – 21 TEN
Minnesota Vikings @ Washington Redskins
Minnesota and Washington are facing off in a game that both teams need to win. Minnesota is on a three game losing streak and is now only a half of a game ahead of the Detroit Lions. The Redskins are coming off of a bye in which they had a tie and a loss in the two weeks prior and needs a win to keep their NFC Wildcard spot. The key for the Vikings is to run the ball effectively. The Redskins are giving up 123 yards per game on the ground and if Jerrick McKinnon and Matt Asiata can produce that, then it will open up the passing game for Sam Bradford. The key for the Redskins is to not turn the ball over. The Vikings haven’t been able to dominate the turnover battle in their last three games like they did in the beginning of the season and they haven’t been able to score points because of that. The winner of this game should be the Washington Redskins in a close game.
MIN 19 – 21 WAS
Chicago Bears @ Tampa Bay Buccaneers
The Bears and the Buccaneers are meeting in a game that doesn’t really mean anything for either team. Both of these teams are almost out of the playoff picture and are both competing more for a higher draft pick in 2017. Chicago was able to win their last game before the bye week, but they are still three games out of first place and they would pretty much need to win the rest of their games to make the playoffs. The Buccaneers are on a two game losing streak and are behind Atlanta by two and a half games and need to win seven of their last eight games. The key for a Chicago victory is to get to Jameis Winston. If they can slow the Tampa Bay attack, then they should be able to win. The key for Tampa Bay is to run the ball effectively. It looks like Doug Martin should be back and if he is able run the ball effectively, then they should be able to score a lot and win. Tampa Bay should win this game in a close matchup.
CHI 17 – 20 TB
Kansas City Chiefs @ Carolina Panthers
The Kansas City Chiefs are travelling to Carolina for a battle of two of the hotter teams in the league. The Chiefs have won their last four games and have been really good at certain points during that stretch. The Panthers are on a two game winning streak and are certainly looking more like the team that people were expecting at the beginning of the season. The Chiefs are in a battle for possibly the best division in football and the Panthers are trying to get up in the wildcard picture. The key for the Chiefs is to run the ball and control the clock. The Panthers should be pressured to make a play and the Chiefs can then capitalize on any mistakes that the Panthers make. The key for the Panthers is to shut down Spencer Ware and the rest of the Chiefs offense. The Chiefs offense revolves around the running attack and if the Panthers can force Alex Smith to have to win the game, then the Panthers could come away with the victory. This will be a good game, but the Chiefs should get the win.
KC 22 – 13 CAR
Atlanta Falcons @ Philadelphia Eagles
Atlanta is going to Philadelphia for a big NFC matchup. This will be Atlanta’s really good offense against the really good Philadelphia Eagles defense. Atlanta needs the win with New Orleans and Carolina both looking better lately and the Eagles need the win to keep up with one of the better divisions in the league. The key for Atlanta is to get the ball to Julio Jones. Jones is their best weapon and if he can make the Eagles focus on him, then it will open up the rest of their offense. The key for the Eagles is to open up the offense and take advantage of the poor Atlanta defense. If Carson Wentz is able to move the ball and score touchdowns, then they might be able to win. This should be Atlanta’s game to win because their offense is just to good to be stopped at this point in the season.
ATL 34 – 27 PHI
Los Angeles Rams @ New York Jets
The Los Angeles Rams are visiting the Jets in what should be a defensive battle. The Rams have lost four games in a row and need to turn things around before their season is totally lost. The Jets lost last week and seem like they aren’t going to make the playoffs this season. The key for the Rams is to get Todd Gurley involved. Case Keenum and the wide receivers are not getting the job done and Gurley is the most talented offensive player on this team. The Jets have been good against the run this season, but Gurley should be able to do something in this game. The key for the Jets is to not give the ball to the Rams. They would have won a few more games if they had not turned the ball over as much as they have this season. The Jets should be able to stop this poor Rams offense and come away with the victory at home.
LA 12 – 14 NYJ
Denver Broncos @ New Orleans Saints
The Denver Broncos are going to New Orleans for a really good game against the Saints. The Broncos have been really good on defense and really bad on offense. The Saints have been really good on offense, but not very good on defense. Drew Brees going against this defense should be really entertaining. The key for the Broncos is to run the ball effectively. Since CJ Anderson went down, this offense has not looked good and they need to get back to the basics on offense and take care of the ball. The key for the Saints is to protect Drew Brees. The weakness of this defense right now is their beat up secondary and Brees can rip them apart if given enough time to do so. This should be the best early game and the Saints should win this one at home.
DEN 24 – 28 NO
Houston Texans @ Jacksonville Jaguars
The Houston Texans are going to Jacksonville to face off against their division rivals. The Texans are coming off of a bye week and are leading the AFC South. The Jaguars are on a three game losing streak and are currently in last place in the AFC South. The Texans won both of their matchups against the Jaguars last season, scoring at least 30 points each time. The key for the Texans in this game is to give the ball to Lamar Miller as much as possible. Brock Osweiler has not looked good in this system and if Miller can grind down the Jacksonville defense, then they should win. The key for the Jaguars is to score early. This team’s points have come mostly in the fourth quarter and if they don’t have to play from behind, then they should win. The Texans will probably win this game easily.
HOU 30 – 13 JAX
Miami Dolphins @ San Diego Chargers
The Dolphins are travelling to San Diego in a game that could impact the AFC Wildcard picture later in the season. The Dolphins have been one of the best teams in the league recently thanks to Jay Ajayi. The Chargers have been able to protect Philip Rivers and let him win games for them. The key for the Dolphins is to keep running the ball with Jay Ajayi. Ryan Tannehill looks better when he can play off of the run and that is what has made them look good recently. The key for the Chargers is to control the clock with Melvin Gordon and Philip Rivers. If they can control the clock and make Tannehill try to make plays, the Chargers should win. This will be a hard fought game that the Chargers should win.
MIA 23 – 27 SD
Dallas Cowboys @ Pittsburgh Steelers
The Cowboys are travelling to Pittsburgh for one of the best offensive matchups of the week. The Cowboys are on the longest winning streak in the NFL with seven straight victories. The Steelers did not look good last week, but it could have been just Ben Roethlisberger knocking off some of the rust from his injury. The key for the Cowboys is for them to stop Le’Veon Bell. If Roethlisberger plays like he did last week, then the Cowboys should make sure that the Steelers don’t beat them on the ground. The key for the Steelers is to get to Dak Prescott. Prescott has faced some good defenses in his rookie campaign, but he hasn’t had to go pound for pound with an offense that has just as much talent as the Cowboys. If the Steelers are able to force some mistakes, then they could win. Unfortunately for the Steelers, Roethlisberger will look better than he did last week, but it won’t be enough to stop the Cowboys from winning their eighth straight game.
DAL 31 – 23 PIT
San Francisco 49ers @ Arizona Cardinals
The 49ers are going to Arizona for a big AFC West game. The 49ers haven’t won a game since week one and Arizona is coming off of two disappointing games and a bye. The 49ers are in contention for the top pick in the NFL draft and the Cardinals still have a chance to make the playoffs. The key for the 49ers is to hit Carson Palmer and force him to throw a couple of interceptions. The San Francisco offense hasn’t looked particularly good in the last nine weeks and need good field position to score points and win this game. The key for the Cardinals is to give the ball to David Johnson. The 49ers are giving up 193 yards per game on the ground and David Johnson should have a huge game and lead the Cardinals to a victory.
SF 9 – 35 ARI
Seattle Seahawks @ New England Patriots
Seattle is travelling to New England for one of the best games this weekend. Seattle needs to win so they can keep their lead in the NFC West and the Patriots need to win to keep their lead in the AFC. The key for the Seahawks is to slow down the Patriots passing attack. The Patriots have been on fire since Tom Brady came back from his suspension and if they can slow down the offense, then Seattle might be able to win. The key for the Patriots is to get to Russell Wilson. If Wilson is slowed down, then the Seahawks offense can’t really function and the Patriots should win. It is hard to imagine the Seahawks offense going pound for pound against the Patriots and will be their downfall in this game.
SEA 17 – 24 NE
Cincinnati Bengals @ New York Giants
The Bengals are visiting the New York Giants in a game that both teams need if they want to make the playoffs. The Bengals are coming off of their bye week and had a tie the week prior. The Giants are coming off of a huge win against their division rival, the Philadelphia Eagles. The key for the Bengals is to get the ball to Tyler Eifert. Eifert had a big game in their last game and is their biggest redzone threat and should be able to take some of the pressure off of AJ Green. The key for the Giants is to force a few turnovers. The Giants are having trouble running the football and if they work with a smaller field then they won’t have to worry about it as much. This will be a close game, but the rest should have helped the Bengals and they should squeak out the victory.
