There is a new number one team again because of the Broncos and Eagles are no longer unbeaten. The biggest jump this week belongs to the Falcons as they showed that they can be a serious threat in the NFL and the biggest drop belongs to the Giants as they lost another key NFC game.
1. Minnesota Vikings (5-0; Prev. 2)
The Vikings are the best team in the NFL right now. They are a team that doesn’t make many mistakes on offense, but allow their defense to make plays for them. They didn’t allow the Texans to score a touchdown until the game was already over. They forced only one turnover, but were able to sack Osweiler four times and return a punt for a touchdown. If this team continues to dominate, it will be hard for any team to stop them. They will remain unbeaten for at least another week as they enter their bye week.
2. Pittsburgh Steelers (4-1; Prev. 3)
3. New England Patriots (4-1; Prev. 4)
Tom is back and all is right with the NFL again. He didn’t look like he was at his best yet, but luckily he was playing against the worst team in the league and was still able to throw for 406 yards and three touchdowns. The most promising thing that he was able to do in this game was getting his tight ends involved. Rob Gronkowski and Martellus Bennett were able to combine for 176 yards receiving and three touchdowns. This is a team that should scare any of their AFC opponents. They have a tough game this week as a desperate Cincinnati team is coming to town.
4. Denver Broncos (4-1; Prev. 1)
5. Green Bay Packers (3-1; Prev. 5)
6. Seattle Seahawks (3-1; Prev. 6)
7.Dallas Cowboys (4-1; Prev. 10)
It is hard to write about anything other than the rookies Dak Prescott and Ezekiel Elliott, but these two are setting the world on fire. They are the first rookie tandem to throw for 1,000 yards and rush for 500 yards in their first five games. Dak Prescott is only eight pass attempts away from breaking Tom Brady’s record of 162 passes to begin a career without an interception. This might be one of the best Cowboys’ draft classes in the history of the franchise and it should be exciting for Cowboys fans. This week they have a tough test as the travel to Lambeau to face the Packers.
8.Atlanta Falcons (4-1; Prev. 14)
9.Oakland Raiders (4-1; Prev. 11)
10.Philadelphia Eagles (3-1; Prev. 7)
The Philadelphia Eagles are no longer unbeaten after a tough game against the Lions. Carson Wentz threw his first interception, but it was on a bomb that he threw, trying to win the game. The fumble by Ryan Mathews was the play that caused this team to lose. If they can't run the ball effectively then th Eagles could fall off more by the end of the season. Next, they are going up to Washington to face a Redskins team that has started to turn the corner and is on a three game winning streak, so Philadelphia needs to stop them in order to hold washing down and to keep up with Dallas.
11. Houston Texans (3-2; Prev. 9)
The Texans lost to one of the best teams in the NFL when they faced off against the Vikings. Brock Osweiler has still yet to pay off so far this season and the Houston offense is averaging 16.4 points per game so far this season, the worst in the NFL. They also rank in the bottom five in passing and total yards per game contributing to their woes. This week they must win against their divisional rival, the Colts.
12. Kansas City Chiefs (2-2; Prev. 12)
13.Cincinnati Bengals (2-3; Prev. 8)
14.Washington Redskins (3-2; Prev. 16)
15. Los Angeles Rams (3-2; Prev. 17)
16. Buffalo Bills (3-2; Prev. 18)
17.Baltimore Ravens (3-2; Prev. 15)
18. Arizona Cardinals (2-3; Prev. 19)
19. New York Giants (2-3; Prev. 13)
20. Tampa Bay Buccaneers (2-3; Prev. 22)
21.Tennessee Titans (2-3; Prev. 28)
The Titans have looked better and better each week and they are in position to make a move on the weak AFC South. They were able to score more than 20 points this past week for the first time this season. The win came against a bad Miami team, but the reemergence of DeMarco Murray makes this team better and gives them a chance to compete for a playoff spot. They have another winnable game this week as the Browns come to town.
22. Carolina Panthers (1-4; Prev. 20)
23.New York Jets (1-4; Prev. 21)
24.Indianapolis Colts (2-3; Prev. 23)
25.New Orleans Saints (1-3; Prev. 24)
26.Jacksonville Jaguars (1-3; Prev. 25)
27.San Diego Chargers (1-4; Prev. 26)
28.San Francisco 49ers (1-4; Prev. 27)
29.Detroit Lions (2-3; Prev. 29)
30. Chicago Bears (1-4; Prev. 30)
31.Miami Dolphins (1-4; Prev. 31)
The Dolphins haven’t looked good at any point this season. Ryan Tannehill is on a pace to throw the least amount of touchdowns since his rookie season with 19 and the most interceptions of his career with 22. Adam Gase needs to figure out a way to fix his quarterback or look to move on in the offseason. This week they have the tough challenge of having to keep up with one of the best offenses in the league when the Steelers come to town.
32.Cleveland Browns (0-4; Prev. 32)
The Browns had the misfortune of being Tom Brady’s comeback game. They lost, potentially, two more quarterbacks in Cody Kessler and Charlie Whitehurst and now have to use their quarterback that converted to receiver, Terrelle Pryor. This does two horrible things to this Browns team. First, Pryor is their quarterback, and second, Pryor is no longer their biggest receiver threat. Surely, they will bring in a quarterback if Whitehurst and Kessler can’t go next week, but it is still a bad situation for the worst team in football. They are travelling to Tennessee this week to face a Titans team that is rolling and might be tough for the Browns to stop.
